These films are of Mil Spec and aerospace standards and are recommended to use in applications such as aircraft fasteners, valves, bearings, fuel rings, oxygen systems, hydraulic fittings, seat belt mechanisms and turbine blades.Įverlube graphite-based coatings are typically required in applications that work in best with very low coefficient of friction. Mil Spec and Aerospace Solid Film LubricantsĮverlube range of Mil Spec and aerospace solid film lubricants deliver properties such as chemical resistance, load carrying, friction and wear control under a huge range of temperatures. Additionally, these coatings are water-based and have the same performance characteristics of traditional solvent-based solid film lubricants.

MoS 2 based coatings are commonly used in applications: Bonded lubricants we deliver range from MoS2 Coatings, PTFE Coatings, protective coatings, air dry solid film lubricants, water based coatings, Graphite Coatings, Tungsten Disulfide Coatings, Process Lubricants/MRO, and Electronic Control. Thanks everyone for the advice and suggestions. Our selection of bonded lubricants has the approval of mil-spec and aerospace industries.

I will get some pics up if anyone interested in seeing the before vs after. Into the oven (after about 1 hour of air dry) at 170 deg F for another 1/2 hour and then removed them to cool and finish curing (actually had to go to work) as needed for about 24 hours.įinish is a lighter grey than I would have desired but so far seems to be durable and looks a lot better than the messed up finish on the mags prior to all the work I put into them. I allowed them to air dry for about 1 hour and then placed them in an oven at 170deg F for about 1/2 hour and then immediately began applying very sparing coats of the Loctite DFL. refinished 2 mags that were in desperate need of some finish work (they looked as if someone had a "few too many" and put about 3" of DFL on them).Ĭleaned the mags with warm soapy water and then scrubbed them clean using #0000 steel wool and acetone.

Got the Loctite product from Grainger for some torture testing.
